Documentation Website

Great Expectations Documentation

Project Summary

Designing a very dense documentation store for a data company.

I worked with the GX team to design their updated documentation website. We looked at several documentation sites the team loved and used to build out the UX of the project.

A deep table of contents had to be clear and easy to navigate. Code snippets had to be easy to read and to copy and use. Long pages had to be easy to navigate individually. All designs had to work in both light and dark mode and older versions of the documentation had to be readily available for customers who hadn’t upgraded.

Making all the pieces of this project work took months and several changes. When a wireframe began to meet the needs of the project, I continued with the UI in Figma to match the GX branding and marketing site. We also designed a code and API visualization library that matched the theme.

I worked with the GX developer team to identify what users would be looking for and then worked with a development team to realize the designs.
