Marketing and Website Design

Great Expectations

Project Summary

Redesigning Great Expectations website and designing blog and marketing materials

I worked with the GX team to redesign their website — twice! They had a very basic site that needed to grow as the business did. As a data quality tool there wasn’t a lot of imagery to work with, so I took their branding guide and worked with them on a website that was font-focused with some subtle imagery to represent data and their users.

The website was built in Contentful by a third-party development company so the site had to be designed in a way that let the marketing team make updates without changing locked structures. To solve this we created several reusable content patterns to cut down on development asks. This way we had a small library of layouts that would help the site grow as the team added more content. This created a more agile environment for site updates.

Additionally, I also made very specific documents for the development team to outline exact font and spacing for the site to appear correctly at all sizes. The spacing documents helped bridge the occasional language gap.

I designed the UX and UI for this site in XD and later in Figma where I moved so we could more easily share designs with relevant team members.

Work on GX included video intros and outros, graphics for blogs and social and eBooks all matching their branding.
